I wonder how long this latest revelation will take to make it into the western media?
So France, possibly with other powers, was behind the rebels from day one. Once Gaddafi cracked down on the rebels, the western powers forced through a vague UN security council which could be interpreted as allowing for much wider military action, which would overthrow Gaddafi. Along the way, Al Qaeda and other jihadis took over large parts of the country, stormed the US embassy and murdered embassy staff and the "ambassador" who was involved in a CIA operation that aided the jihadi overthrow of Gaddafi.
But the emphasis in the US media revolves around Hilary Clinton's alleged incompetence and a cover up over some minor issues, not the jihadi overthrow of Gaddafi and the creation of a lawless country, half of which is in the hands of jihadis who claim allegiance to either Al Qaeda or ISIS, while much of the rest of the country is in the hands of warlords and criminals. Presumably the same thing happened in Mali. All in all, Libya is another success story to be added to the other successes in Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc.
Hugh Roberts has a long piece on Syria in the latest London Review of Books in which he brings up the DIA report that explained the creation of a Salafi jihadi state was useful in bringing down the Syrian regime. It'll probably be ignored by the rest of the media, who will no doubt turn to their idiotic and corrupt columnists and leader writers for analysis.
