ooooh... very bad on the part of YV...

Is otherwise revealing about him in that this demonstrates his lack of understanding of authority... demonstrates the libertarianism in him..

Probably why he has trouble with MMT...

Right. Too cocky. That was a huge faux pas wrt protocol, and Tsipras was right in requesting his resignation.

Couldn't disagree more.

Man up! Varoufakis stepped aside for the greater good. We now call on Juncker, Lagarde, Dijsselbloem, Draghi and Schulz to step down

Will any real men show up in Brussels so as to solve the Greek crisis once and for all…we think not.

Yanis Varoufakis acted like a real man and stepped down for the greater good of Greece and Europe.

Now its the EU’s turn to man up. Unfortunately for everyone involved, there are few real men in Brussels, just power addicted, and power hungry, unelected banker tool sociopaths.

Via Automatic Earth…

Now that Yanis Varoufakis has resigned, in the kind of unique fashion and timing that shows us who the real men are, it’s time to clear the other side of the table as well. The new finance minister, Euclid Tsakalotos, should not have to face the same faces that led to Europe’s painful defeat in yesterday’s Greek referendum.

That would be an utter disgrace, and the EU would not survive it. So we now call for Juncker, Lagarde, Schäuble, Dijsselbloem, Draghi, Merkel and Schulz to move over.

It’s time for the Troika to seek out some real men too. It cannot be that the winner leaves and all the losers get to stay.

The attempts to suppress the IMF debt sustainability analysis were a shameful attempt to mislead the people of Greece, and of Europe as a whole. And don’t forget the US: Lagarde operates out of Washington.

It cannot be that after this mockery of democracy, these same people can just remain where they are.

It’s time for Europe to show the same democratic heart that Varoufakis has shown this morning. And if that doesn’t happen, all Europeans should make sure to leave the European Union as quickly as they can.

Because that would prove once and for all that the EU is no more than a cheap facade, a thin veil behind which something pretty awful tries to hide its ugly face.

Here’s to a real man!

Let the fools remain in the Euro Zone.

I agree with your sentiments but Tsipras/Syriza is showing no motion in that direction and the eurocrats are hardening their position.

Unless or until Tsipras-Syriza either put Grexit on the table, or else move to sue the troika and creditors, and also request criminal prosecutions, the eurocrats hold all the cards, and their aim is regime change.

Yes, I agree completely. The great problem is that criminality is not shown for what it really is. Possibly Nuland hinted to Tsipras that if he even thought of Grexit or some such "rebellion", he could be "replaced."

It may also be possible that Putin, with characteristic patience, told Tsipras that the time isn't ripe for crossing over. The Greeks apparently don't understand just how ill-willed and inhumane the Brussels is. He has the backing of the people now to negotiate, but not to cross over. Not yet. The Greeks are hypnotized into identifying with Europe. It is a terrible thing to say, but they perhaps need to suffer still more to understand the true nature of what is at stake when you are under the thumb of the bankers.
