But wasn't Schauble the only one that seriously proposed a grexit? If that's the case, then Schauble was the only half reasonable person on the German side.

Shaeuble has been advocating Grexit for several years.

So why the hate for Schauble? He may be a corrupt thug, but he seems to be playing a consigilere-type role, the one who says "Enough! Return to our senses. Don't take this stuff personally and lets get on with business."

I don't know all the details of his proposal, but if what Schauble termed "Humanitarian Aid to Greece" actually was anything of the sort, then Schauble isn't the bad guy here.

Grexit really has been and still is the only serious option here. Futher EU fiscal integration? Not if you have any concern for human dignity or democracy.
